Project Overview

McCain Foods undertook a major expansion of its Coaldale, Alberta facility, doubling its processing capacity to meet rising global demand for potato products. Pronghorn was selected as the primary electrical and instrumentation contractor for the mainline processing area — a central component of this landmark development.

Upon arrival, raw potatoes are conveyed into a new 114,960-square-foot mainline processing area, where they pass through a series of advanced systems, including peeling, cutting, wet sorting, blanching, drying, battering, frying, freezing, and final grading. The result is the production of high-quality frozen French fries using one of the most efficient and technologically advanced systems in the industry.
